Telene Jeffrey

My obsession with quilting comes from my passion to sew, which my mother taught me from a very young age. While completing my B-Tech Degree Interior Architecture, I was involved in my parents Bernina dealership, where I taught basic sewing lessons, lingerie making and machine embroidery. During my time in the corporate world I started quilting.

In January 2011 the opportunity arose for me to start teaching basic quilting classes at the shop. I also started quilting for clients, specializing in custom free motion quilting. I have taught at IQCAfrica 2012 and other quilt groups. I’m involved in our local and regional quilt groups.

I have gained accreditation from the Golden Rand Guild Teachers Accreditation Program and I am also a South African Quilt Guild Accredited Teacher. In October 2014 I have opened my own quilting shop, Lady Jane Quilting, from where I teach on a weekly basis anything quilt related.

My absolute passion is Free Motion Quilting and I’m a firm believer that everybody can quilt. My husband is a good example. My goal is to inspire you to pick up a piece of fabric and just try… you won’t look back.
